|Moonshiner 28 takes riders south from US 74 through Franklin NC past Cullasaja Falls, Dry Falls and Bridal Veil Falls to Highlands NC – riders will continue south going through the southeast corner of Georgia into South Carolina with a stop to explore Stumphouse Tunnel before reaching the end of Moonshiner 28 in Walhalla SC - From Walhalla riders will take the Cherokee Foothills Pkwy to US 178 north to Rosman NC then to NC 215 for the ride back to Maggie Valley.|
|The Blue Ridge Parkway has twenty-six tunnels, twenty-five of those tunnels are in North Carolina. Seventeen of those tunnels are south of Asheville NC starting at mile marker 397.1 Grassy Knob Tunnel – last one is Sherril Cove Tunnel which is a short distance from the end of the BRP at US 441.|
This section of the Parkway is the most scenic with numerous overlooks – Skinny Dip Falls, Devils Courthouse, Richland Balsam highest elevation on the BRP and Waterrock Knob Visitor Center.
Pisgah Inn mile marker 408.6 – “Peak of the Parkway” has a full-service restaurant, lodging, gift shop, country store and panoramic views from the Observation Deck.

To return to Maggie Valley: take the BRP back to US 19 to Maggie Valley or go to Cherokee to US 19
|Whitewater Falls is the highest waterfall east of the Rockies @ 411 feet! It drops again another 400 ft into South Carolina - there are two observation areas - the upper one is an easy walk on a paved path - the lower one is located at the bottom of 154 wooden steps. **Fee: $3 for vehicles with seven passengers or less; $1 per person for more than seven people traveling together in a vehicle.|
This route is a mix of waterfalls and twisty roads that includes a section of Moonshiner 28 and US276 part of the Copperhead Loop. All the stops on this route have paved parking areas with paved walkways to the viewing areas - the walk behind Dry Falls can get wet so watch your step. Not included below is Toxaway Falls which is difficult to see from the roadway but is visible from the patio of the Falls Cafe & Grille which is also a good place for lunch.
